• MEET THE ARTIST: San Williams

I would like to personally introduce you to 18 year old rapper San Williams. San Williams, from ATL, is arguably the most underrated rapper I have ever heard. When he linked me to his mixtape, I honestly had no expectations, but after reluctantly listening to the first song my whole opinion flipped. The last time(…)

  • Passion Pit – Carried Away (Dillon Francis Remix)

I’m not even going to lie right now, this absolutely slaps and I love it. Dillon Francis perfected this Passion Pit remix, doing their song the utmost justice. The intro could not be better and then it dives in to some moombahton madness that will have you shaking your head without a doubt. Though the(…)

  • Kings Dead – ’94 (Official Music Video)

The Kings Dead, once known as The Dean’s List, just dropped this new single along with the music video and I am thoroughly impressed. Not too long ago their music could have been classified as something along the lines of frat rap, but with a new name came a new vibe. Their music has taken(…)

  • Welcome Back: The Future of Filthy Slaps

These past months have been some of the slowest months in the history of our filthy presence in the blogoshpere. First off HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US. It is our second birthday and we are relaunching with more enthusiasm than ever. We admit to having missed some quality slaps and sincerely apologize for not sharing these(…)

Brothers From Another – Groov (Feat. Asher Roth) 0

Screen Shot 2013-05-15 at 10.43.50 PM

Asher hopped on this summer time track with the boys over at Brothers From Another. Groov not only embodies the lyrics of this song which flow smoothly out of each MC’s mouth, but it also really captures the vibe and aura of this single. If you aren’t familiar with Brothers From Another, I wasn’t before doing a little research before this post, they are an interracial (in the same way Chiddy Bang was before they broke up, R.I.P.) duo out of Seattle. The basic jist is with a feature like this and having shared the stage with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and Wale, they are obviously on the verge of doing it big. Be sure to take advantage of the FREE DOWNLOAD and peep the song below.

Marco V and Doctors in Florence feat. Jade Ross – Lotus (Limitless) 0

It may be only Wednesday but in all honesty, the year is wrapping up and every night is a perfectly good night to rage. This single has a nice house vibe with a great build up and drop right off the bat. Nothing too complicated here, just a solid slap to get your blood flowing from one of the more prestigious DJ’s in the game. Listen to the song below and then feel free to support them with a download off of Beatport.

Jarren Benton – Cadillacs & Chevys (Prod by Roc N Mayne) 0

This is the first I have heard of Jarren Benton since Skitzo and quite frankly I was tentative when checking out his video. It wasn’t until he went off on the first verse that I remembered what a crazy son of a b*tch he is. I actually really like his flow and his careless mentality. This track is off his upcoming tape, My Grandmas Basement, set to drop June 11th. Come back and look for it here then.

Ellie Goulding – Lights (CHANGE Bootleg) 0

Even though remixing “Lights” is a dead horse that’s gotten thoroughly beaten, CHANGE just dropped a little throwback for us to bask in some nostalgia. It has a Daft Punk type vibe, so I guess you could say that this single could be in honor of Daft Punk’s new album, which I’m sure you’re already sick of (considering Get Lucky is on the radio 24/7). So anyways, enjoy the smooth vibe of this bootleg, and enjoy a throwback just one day shy of #tbt.

Marc Goone – I Am Not A Lobster OK (Full Album) 0

marcgoone

From the album artwork and and title you can probably see that Marc Goone is not your average MC. Though his style could be considered “weird,” I find his unique vibe to make him much more appealing. The production and beats on the album were very well executed and I won’t be surprised if this is the project that gets Marc’s name out there. Download the album below or support Mr. Goone on iTunes HERE.
